Congratulations to Charity Felde!

Reason for Recognition? Reason for recognition: Charity was recently involved in the care of a patient in the Emergency Department . The family wished to express their appreciation for the excellent care she delivered and made the following comments:

We wanted to let you know of a great experience that we had in the ER on Friday evening (if there can be such a thing!). Our son Andrew had gotten a big gash in his elbow during his basketball game and needed stiches. We were checked in quickly by both receptionists and into a room 5 minutes later. Charity was our nurse and she was fantastic. She and Dr. Olen were both positive, funny and focused on getting us out as quickly as possible.

It was by far the best time in the ER that we have ever had and wanted to make sure to recognize both Charity and Dr. Olen.

Thank you Charity for all that you do for our patients and our community and for representing all that is great about the Welia team!

Congratulations to Kim Pierson!

Reason for Recognition? The parent of a pediatric patient in the Emergency Department shared with me her appreciation for Kim's willingness to go above and beyond for her daughter by taking extra time with her and by advocating for the child with the provider. Kim's diligence, kindness and compassion resulted in a positive outcome for the child. Thank you Kim for always bringing your best self to work and for the commitment to others that you show every day. You are appreciated.

Congratulations to Barb Fore!

Reason for Recognition? Hello! Working in CC today and just wanting to brighten some days with a patient comment I received regarding Ms. Barb!

For some background, years back, patient had an issue with poorly managed blood pressure, ultimately resulting in a stroke. His blood pressure was managed well for 3 years, however, recently, his blood pressure started to increase again. He was in to see Barb for a blood pressure check where she went through patient’s history/medications with him and with further investigation, found that he was taking 1 less tablet of his blood pressure medication than he should have been. Patient stated that this was most likely due to his own confusion from his past stroke.

He states that since he is now taking the correct prescription, he is doing “much better” and has “peace of mind.” He credits Barb with preventing him from having another stroke all because she took time with him and identified the problem correctly.

SO cool! And what an excellent reminder to take time to walk through patient’s medication list with them with every applicable telephone visit/ and every office visit!

Way to go Barb!!
