Lab

2018 Employee Blood Draws

FL labs will once again be offering a Basic Metabolic and a Lipid panel for employees at no cost starting Monday, September 10th  through Thursday, September 14th.

FirstLight employee significant others can also take advantage of these lab panels for the small fee of $15.

Mora campus:

  • Monday and Wednesday draws be in the hospital lab from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 a.m.  – 9:30 a.m. in Meeting Room 4.
  • You can also get your flu shot at the same time!
  • Please stop by the HOSPITAL LAB to sign up for a day/time for the draw.

Pine City & Hinckley campuses:

  • Sign up for a day/time to be drawn at your respective lab site

Keep in mind that we will need to work in the employee draws around  patient schedules.

! New ! If you are having a Lipid panel drawn, fasting is no longer required.  Fasting means for 8-12 hours you can only consume water and medications; no food.

If you choose not to fast, please refrain from eating a fatty type meal before the blood draw, and then please let the lab technician know whether or not you fasted.

NOTE:

The lab utilizes these blood samples for instrument/reagent validation studies.

This year they especially need blood from folks who are non-smokers and not currently taking birth control. There will be a box to check when you sign up if you fit that criteria.

Paper copies of your results will be available.  The results will not be sent to your provider nor put into your medical chart;  so you are responsible to forward your results as you see fit.
