A new employee wellness challenge starts November 1st!
ALL EMPLOYEES WHO PARTICIPATE in WALK YOUR SOCKS OFF and meet requirements will get a fun, quality pair of socks. Also, one grand prize winner will be drawn for a $100 Visa gift card at the end.
Walk or jog for 150 minutes each week, record your minutes on the log sheet, and turn in your log sheet to Deb in Wellness by Wednesday December 14th to get your new pair of socks.
Get a small BONUS prize if you weigh in at the start of the challenge and end of the challenge and maintain your weight throughout the 6 weeks.
Challenge dates: November 1st – December 10th.

EMPLOYEE BLOOD DRAWS!!!!
October 17 – 21 lab will offer a Basic Metabolic panel and a Lipid panel. Employees are at no cost; a significant other may also be drawn for $15.00.
Draws in Mora will be at the hospital lab between
0800 and 0930 Mon and Tues
0630 and 0930 Wed. and 730-0930 Thurs and Fri.
You should be fasting 8-12 hours for the Lipid panel. Drink water, take meds, but no food).
PLEASE STOP BY THE HOSPITAL LAB TO SIGN UP FOR THE DAY YOU ARE PLANNING TO BE DRAWN.
For folks that are only at Pine City or Hinckley that week, please arrange a time with the lab tech on-site to be drawn. The samples will then be sent to the hospital for testing.
As always, we will utilize the blood samples for instrument/reagent validation studies.
You will get a copy of your results and are responsible to forward them to your provider yourself. They will not go automatically from the lab.
FirstLight recently donated a used high-low treatment table and portable massage chair to a clinic in Paupa New Guinea. Kristy and Derek Johnson, from Mora, along with their three sons are currently serving as missionaries in Paupa New Guinea and Kristy is setting up a physical therapy clinic there. FirstLight worked with a freight company that donated shipping costs to send this overseas. The equipment should arrive in PNG in about 3 months and we hope to get pictures after the equipment is set up in the clinic. A special thanks to the Rehabilitation Services Department for donating the equipment and Brett Anderson for assisting with loading of the equipment.
We have some pretty amazing nurses that work at FirstLight, so amazing, that 3 were nominated for the Nurse of the Year Award presented by the March of Dimes.

One nurse, Beth, made it to the top 5 and during tomorrow’s ceremony, the winner will be announced.

The Hinckley Chamber of Commerce sent out a contest to all businesses asking them to showcase their Jaguar pride for 2016’s homecoming celebrations. Hinckley-Finlayson’s homecoming football game is Friday night, and they are currently 6-0.
