Cultivating Kindness ~ Employee Wellness

Sometimes we are at a loss for ideas on how to cultivate kindness in our communities and workplaces.  Or we feel like we do the same act of kindness over and over again (which is perfectly OK too by the way!)

Ways to cultivate kindness may come easier than you think!  If you are looking for new ideas and inspiration, view the collection of kindness ideas from the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation and the Bounce Back program using the links below.  You may be well on your way to cultivating kindness without even knowing it.

Hospitals, schools, colleges/universities, state agencies and businesses across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio-for a total of over 1.3 million people (and still counting!)-will celebrate this event by crunching into a juicy, locally grown apple at 12:00pm.

See a member of our crunch team and pick out your apple between 11:00am-1:00pm in Meeting Room 1 on Thursday October 11th.  We will plan a group picture right at 12:00pm for those that can stay for a few minutes.  A variety of apples will be sent to our offsite clinic locations.  Enjoy!

FirstLight game raises money for cancer

The annual Goldie Classic was held on Saturday September 8th at Springbrook Golf Course in Mora.  FirstLight sponsored the Tiki Torch Toss at the FirstLight Luau on hole #4.  We were able to raise $870 through our game!  We also had a lot of fun getting participants to try the ‘hula’ hoop. It was a great day.

All monies raised were donated to Kick Cancer to the Curb.

The Hula Crew:

  • Kate Olson
  • Jen Weidendorf
  • Michele Rothbauer
  • Mel Bergstadt

Thank You Mora Half Marathon Water Stop Volunteers

The FirstLight water stop on Saturday August 18th was so much fun!  This stop is the last stop until the finish for participants, so providing encouragement is important. Employees dished out encouragement in the form of great music, water, Gatorade, wet sponges, fruit and COOKIES to 5k and half marathon participants.  Thanks for your service!

Volunteers included:  Juanita Lietz, Brandi Usher and boyfriend Nick, and Deb Wright
