What is Happening?

  • Construction of temporary walls in ED area to tie-into existing structure and  demolition for SW addition (areas affected: decontam, storage, EMS break room, June Juday’s office, Jill Sawyer’s office, Med-Gas Storage, ED doctor’s sleep room, and shut down of OB emergency stairwell)
  • Jill Sawyer (x3390) will be in ED at the 2nd desk in the mornings and then move to Heather Sanftner’s office upstairs across from the Nurse’s station
  • June Juday (x3515) will move into Jill Sawyer’s office
  • ED physicians will use the doctor’s lounge located next to the sleep rooms
  • Construction fence installed 7/24 in SW area
  • pavement will be striped for ambulance area

  • Building a temporary ambulance drop-off area
  • During 7/17/7/18 staff should use the materials entrance (NW) or the south clinic entrance for access

Meet our construction crew for the Mora expansion

Barry Dahlin, HCC,LEED Green Associate, Project Superintendent

Barry has been a project superintendent since 1995. His diverse background and skills enable him to supervise all types of construction projects from new development sites to remodeling and renovations, multiple buildouts,  and tenant improvements often involving occupied  spaces and occurring between multiple floors.

Barry is an expert in ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining safe ongoing operations around construction activities. He is an efficient scheduler and a skilled supervisor whose resourcefulness and innovative  thinking meet any challenge on a project. He has a demonstrated ability to lead and manage on-site  tradespeople who, in turn, respect his competence. His excellent coordination and documentation of field activities keeps all team members up-to-date on project status.

Barry is easily able to adapt to new technologies as well as changing and challenging environments. He is a team player who looks out for the best interests of the client.


Jessica Masterson, CHC, HCC< LEED AP BD+C, Project Manager

Jessica Masterson is a construction professional with specialized pre-planning, preconstruction, and construction experience on healthcare, commercial and
hospitality projects. Her career has included remodeling and renovation work as well as new construction, and she has field experience as a Plumber’s Helper prior to joining KA.

Jessica is directly responsible for monitoring and refining the long range and short term plans to ensure success on the project. She directs and coordinates the day-to-day activities in the field, manages and coordinates the fl ow of information, controls costs, manages and controls the schedule, implements and monitors the safety program, and verifies that the completed work is constructed to a quality level consistent with the requirements of the construction documents.

Jessica is a highly organized project manager, attentive to details, and an effective communicator.


Matt Johnson, CHC, HCC, Preconstruction Services Manager / Senior Project Manager

Matt is an energetic and articulate leader with 20 years in the construction industry. He is experienced in several construction sectors with a concentration in healthcare projects. As a Senior Project Manager, Matt oversees the development and construction of the entire project. He prepares and presents detailed estimates for all phases from preconstruction through construction. Matt prepares and manages project budgets, reviews and updates schedules, makes cost projections, and prepares project status reports. He facilitates construction coordination and progress meetings on a regular basis.

Matt is experienced in management techniques and quality control to ensure that projects meet schedule and budget requirements. He has been responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently, ranging from 1,200 s.f. in size to 400,000 s.f.

Matt is familiar with lean construction practices including “reverse phase pull planning” project schedules. He is known for his attention to detail, his ability to make quick decisions, his ability to work well with other team members, his professionalism, and his “can-do” attitude.
