We are excited to introduce this seventh edition of our monthly publication that will highlight benefits offered to FirstLight Health System employees. This publication highlights FirstLight’s Flexible Spending Account (FSA). To be eligible for this benefit employees must work 30+ hours a pay period. 

Paying for health care can be stressful.  That is why FirstLight Health System provides you with an important tax advantage that can help you pay for qualified out-of-pocket medical, dental vision and dependent care expenses with pre-taxed dollars through Flexible Spending Accounts.  By paying for certain expenses on a pre-tax basis, you can actually lower your taxable income and increase your take-home pay.

Annual Benefits Enrollment for 2018

In our pursuit to help you understand your benefits, this year we are excited to implement a new process for open enrollment.  All benefits will be enrolled on a new Benefits Administration System which will allow us to eliminate the paper enrollment forms.  Benefit Counselors from a local Enrollment Firm affiliated with UNUM, our Life and Disability carrier, will be meeting individually with you at various FirstLight locations to introduce you to the new enrollment platform and answer questions you may have on any of your benefit options.  For this open enrollment, all employees will need to re-elect and/or waive all benefits.  You will be scheduled in 30 minute time periods.

During your Annual Open Enrollment Period you will:

  1. Review the benefits you currently were enrolled in for 2017
  2. Evaluate your benefit programs offered through FirstLight for 2018
  3. Add, delete or change coverage for yourself and your dependents
  4. Update beneficiary information
  5. Verify dependent eligibility

Please plan to bring the following information to your benefits enrollment meeting:

  1. Full Names of all dependents you plan to enroll in FirstLight’s benefits
  2. Dates of Birth for all dependents you plan to enroll
  3. Social Security numbers for all dependents you plan to enroll
  4. Beneficiary information:  Name, Date of Birth, Address

We will be sending more information on the dates/times the benefit counselors will be coming to FirstLight Health System, so please watch for this information.  We just wanted to give you a heads up on the change!

We are excited to introduce this fifth edition of our monthly publication that will highlight benefits offered to FirstLight Health System employees. This publication highlights FirstLight’s 3D/tomo Mammogram.  Employees with FirstLight Health Insurance are eligible for this benefits.  

Did you know that 3D/tomo mammograms are covered under preventative screening if you have health insurance with FirstLight Health System?  Effective May 1, 2017 with CCStpa, FirstLight Health System’s insurance vendor, these are covered at 100% as part of your routine cancer screening.  You just make your appointment and leave the reimbursement up to the insurance company.
