Happy Athletic Training Month!

During March, athletic trainers across America are being recognized for their commitment to helping people prevent injuries, stay healthy and active, and most recently, leading the way with establishing COVID-19 protocols. As health care professionals, they are highly educated and dedicated to the job at hand. Athletic trainers are found in high schools and colleges, corporations, professional sports, the military, performing arts, clinics, hospitals, and physician offices.

Welia Health would like to acknowledge our athletic trainers for their essential role in providing quality health care for our athletes every day. We are lucky to have some of the best!

Happy Rad Tech Week!

*Edit — Morgan M., RT,was inadvertently missed from the post last week, she was added to the graphic below. Happy Rad Week, Morgan!

National Radiologic Technology Week (NRTW) is held the week of November 5 to celebrate Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen’s discovery of the X-ray. It is commemorated every year to honor the essential work of RT’s around the country.

HISTORY OF NATIONAL RAD TECH WEEK
National Radiologic Technology Week was established in 1979 by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. Historically, NRTW has not always been held in November. The first National Radiologic Technology Week was held from July 22 to 29, 1979, which was over 40 years ago. The date of the commemoration was later changed to the week of November 8, honoring the discovery of the X-ray by German physicist Wilhelm Röntgen on November 8, 1895.

Imaging operations and radiation therapy treatments are performed by radiologic technologists or RT’s. Radiologists read and interpret medical images, and they collaborate with them. MRI, X-ray imaging, mammography, CT scans, ultrasound, sonography, PET, and fluoroscopy are all examples of this.

September 11th

Join us in observing a moment of silence at 7:46am on Monday, September 11th.

The time signifies when the first plane hit the Twin Towers, honoring the memory of those first responders and Americans who lost their lives.

Twenty-two years later, we gather in a renewed spirit of unity, resilience, and strength.

We invite all community members, the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office, Mora and Ogilvie Fire Departments to meet us in the front parking lot off Highway 65.
