Food Distribution Volunteers Needed

Mora Food Pantry partners with Second Harvest North Central and hosts a free Food distribution at Lakes and Pines in Mora. We typically serve 100-120 households in an hour.  Volunteers are needed still for the 29th from 1-2pm. Please contact Paige Nelson at pnelson@welia.org if you would be interested in helping.

Congratulations to Welia Nursing (Hospital/Clinic)!

Reason for Recognition? Resilience

The capacity to recover quickly from difficulties….
A word used every day

Though you’re tired of being tough and strong
Don’t let your true purpose stray

You see, you touch the hand of a loved one
With each interaction you make

Your impact as a small-town nurse
Has nurtured many in heartache

These words I want to prove to you
For it’s important that you know

The times of impact you have had
From just one person are below:

You laughed with grandpa before he passed in a Med-Surg rocking chair
You comforted my dad before a cardiovert and helped my family to prepare

You held my brothers dying hand and cried with tears of sadness
You gave my grandparents their first vaccine to protect against Covid madness

You saved my life post birth of twins as blood was leaving my body
You talked through times of confusion and pain and gave Kleenex when my sister was snotty

You casted my cousin and helped him to reach his goals for senior year
You loved my baby boy through his CT and helped him have no fear

You gowned and gloved and sweat like crazy to care for my loved one from Church
You answered questions my uncle had and assured him of your research

You responded to a devastating scene where my cousins were attacked
You let my daughter decorate her splint and 100% made an impact

You educated my brother on heart healthy things to do
And convinced my mom to spend the night when she had heart problems too.

You ran a stress test on my Papa, the man that I adore
And rest assured my friends I can think of many more

So, when resilience starts to fade
And your light is growing dim

Remember all the lives you’ve touched
Near small town Mora Minn.

Congratulations to Bethany Sjodin, Clinic Nurse Supervisor!

Reason for Recognition? On 12/20/2022, a couple received a ride to the Mora Clinic for an appointment, and the couple's driver decided to leave them due to their inability to pay. Couple was visibly upset as they lived approximately 12 miles from the clinic. Bethany came to the front desk for another purpose, noticed the couple's distress, and went to them immediately to offer her assistance. Bethany found they were abandoned, went and get her personal vehicle and transported them home. Bethany exemplifies the meaning of service to our patients! What an extraordinary act of kindness!
