Welia Week of Gratitude

Who’s up for a 7-day gratitude challenge?

We know that “an attitude of gratitude” has been proven to provide many health benefits such as increased sleep quality, resiliency to stress, and increased energy levels. If you don’t already practice gratitude, Thanksgiving week is a great opportunity to start.

In your email you will find a daily checklist challenge for the week. Complete the 7-day challenge and earn a gratitude goodie bag.  Turn completed checklists into the Paige Nelson. Paige will be in the following spaces on these days:

  • Mora wellness office (next to the gift shop) – Monday 11/28 from 11-1pm
  • Pine City- Tuesday 11/29 from 8-10am
  • Hinckley Clinic- Tuesday 11/29 from 11-1pm

Please reach out if you are unable to make these times to schedule an alternative time to pick up your goodie bag!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Toys for Tots

Happy Holidays!

This holiday season, all three of our campuses are drop sites for Toys for Tots!

Did you know?
This will be our fourth year with Toys for Tots in Kanabec County and we need your help to keep this program up and running. Last year we served 675 children and gave out 2,203 toys to children in Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Isanti Counties.

Toys for Tots began in 1947 when Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR, and a group of Marine Reservists in Los Angeles collected and distributed 5,000 toys to children in need. The idea came from Bill’s wife, Diane. In the fall of 1947, Diane handcrafted a Raggedy Ann doll and asked Bill to deliver the doll to an organization which would give it to a child in need at Christmas. When Bill determined that no agency existed, Diane told Bill that he should start one, and he did! The 1947 campaign was so successful that the Marine Corps adopted Toys for Tots in 1948 and expanded it into a nationwide campaign.

Toys for Tots donation boxes are located:
Mora – Clinic waiting area by Door C and outside the Community Pharmacy
Pine City – Clinic waiting area
Hinckley – Clinic waiting area (Coming soon!)

Please make sure the toy is new and unwrapped.

We are also accepting cash donations -please contact Paige Nelson, Wellness Programs Coordinator, to donate or for other questions.

Toys can be dropped off now until the week of December 9th.

Thank you for your continued efforts serving our communities by helping those families in need.

Congratulations to Hager, Mitch!

Reason for Recognition? You are so great to work with. We have had the opportunity to see Mitch work with the outpatient total joint replacement patients and he is wonderful. He makes each patient feel comfortable and listened to. He is also collaborative and always willing to help.

Congratulations to Dr. Valentine and Patience!

Reason for Recognition? A patient came into the clinic on 11/7/2022 to see Dr. Valentine and Patience. She stated she was very impressed! Patience called in her quickly, after x-ray did all the questions, and took her paperwork for her LOA. Dr. Valentine came in almost immediately, showed her the x-ray, was very nice, took time to explain and even got her sense of humor! Patience came back in when he was done and had her CT scheduled, gave her a copy of her LOA paperwork, and had already faxed it to Allina! Great teamwork and excellent patient care!!!
